Once you leave IBM employment, your (former) employer and you no longer make contribution(s). The retirement pension you had accrued remains with us. In most cases, this does not apply to your partner’s pension. Partner’s pension is insured with SPIN on a risk basis and coverage expires 5 months after your pension accrual with SPIN stops. If you receive unemployment benefits, the risk coverage with SPIN for your partner’s pension continues during the period you receive unemployment benefits. <\/p>\n
\u200d\u200dThere may be several reasons to leave your pension with SPIN , such as:<\/p>\n
– You will not (immediately) start working for another employer;<\/p>\n
– your new employer does not have a pension plan;<\/p>\n
– you find that value transfer to your new pension provider is not advantageous to you;<\/p>\n
– your new pension provider’s coverage ratio is too low, so value transfer cannot yet take place;<\/p>\n
– you cannot transfer because you are leaving IBM or Kyndryl via a group transition.<\/p>\n
