IBM has different types of leave. Such as parental leave, maternity leave, partner leave and long-term unpaid leave (sabbatical).
For IBM , during your unpaid leave, you accrue no or partial pension. After you return, you can repair the missed pension accrual. You repair over a maximum of the first 12 months of your leave. You must then be employed by IBM for at least six months after your leave.
Repair: how does it work and what does it cost?
Within six months of the end of your leave, we will send you a letter. This will calculate how much it will cost you to fix your missed pension. If you choose to do this, you will still pay the normal employee contribution to your pension. IBM will then pay the employer’s contribution. Only in the case of a sabbatical will you pay both the employee and employer contribution when you make the repair.
Death risk is covered though
If you die during your leave, your family is entitled to a survivor’s pension.
Kyndryl has chosen to transfer the new pension accrual into a new pension plan with a different administrator from January 1, 2025. Would you like to know what has been arranged for you? Then contact NLEmployeeOffice@kyndryl.com.
