A DigiD is basically a username and password that allows you to log in securely to, for example, MijnSPIN. Below we explain how you can apply for a DigiD from abroad. 1. Make an appointment using this link: www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl/digid-buiten-nederland/activeringscode-videobellen which is a few hours away so you have time to prepare (step 2). You will receive a confirmation from the State Department in your mail.

2. Apply for a DigiD using this link: https://www.digid.nl/buitenland/. You will receive confirmation codes by email and text message on your cell phone, enter them until you finally receive a counter code. You will need this counter code when video calling for the activation code (step 3).

3. Use the State Department email where you can start the video call and codes and go to the video appointment. The video call representative will be happy to help you activate your DigiD with the activation code.
