You do not have to notify us of a death within the Netherlands yourself. We receive this notification automatically through the municipality's Key Register of Persons.

Did the deceased receive a pension from SPIN? Then this pension stops from the month after the death. At the end of that month we will send another annual statement to the last known address. This may be needed for the tax return.

Is a survivor entitled to a partner's or orphan's pension? If so, we will send a letter as soon as the death notification has been processed. In it, we explain what is required to apply for the survivor's pension.
