I'm retired. What will the new pension rules mean for my pension at SPIN?

IBM and the Central Works Council (COR) have decided in the agreement that accrued pensions (DB and DC) will not be transferred to the new pension plan. This means that nothing will change about your accrued pension with SPIN from the Wtp. SPIN will continue to manage your pension and we will remain your trusted point of contact.

Kyndryl and the Works Council have also agreed on this. They will not convert DB pensions already accrued with SPIN to the new pension plan.

In the decision-making process, the Association of IBM Retirees (GBC), among others, was given a statutory right to be heard. This means that they gave an opinion on the proposed changes. With this, the interests of pensioners were also carefully considered in the decision-making process.

The agreements are articulated in a transition plan. These can be found on MySPIN
(on the 'Further Information' page, under the 'New Pension Plan' tile).

SPIN will now assess whether we can implement the agreements and whether it is clear and fair ("balanced") for everyone. To do so, we create an implementation and communication plan. We then submit this plan to De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and the Financial Markets Authority (AFM). They must also give their approval.
