Last year was an extraordinary year. The coronavirus challenged us all in various ways; and continues to do so. Most of all, we hope you and your loved ones are doing well.
Fortunately, there is also better news. Vaccination will start and we will also be able to provide a supplement in 2021. Despite all the challenges, our funding ratio has held up well. That is why SPIN can also increase the pensions of (former) DB members and pensioners this year. In supplement scheme 1, the supplement amounts to 0.83%. In supplement schemes 2 and 3, the supplement is set at 0.99%. This increase will apply from January 1, 2021.

Surcharge is not a given
Our financial position is currently good and within our means we are doing everything possible to keep it that way. In the long term it is uncertain whether, and to what extent, supplements will be granted. So a supplement cannot be taken for granted. Whether an increase can actually take place depends, among other things, on SPIN’s financial position. SPIN’s financial position is expressed in the funding ratio. This depends in part on developments in the financial markets. It is therefore possible that in the future we may not be able to compensate or may only be able to partially compensate for price increases.
