Since 2016, Rinus Verloop has served on the SPIN board as a board member on behalf of the pensioners. At the end of 2025, Rinus will step down as a board member. The Grey Blue Circle has put forward a candidate. But other candidates who consider themselves suitable may also apply to be candidates. In addition to pensioners, active members and sleepers can also apply.
SPIN is particularly committed to ensuring that the board is a good reflection of its stakeholders, both in terms of age and gender. We would therefore especially like to call on women to apply.

The election procedure tells you how it will proceed. Part of the procedure includes having all registered candidates tested by the board for suitability. This includes pension knowledge and knowledge of and sufficient familiarity with board functioning that will allow the candidate to be effective as a director after appointment. If there are sufficient candidates, elections will be held. Only pensioners can vote in these elections.
After winning in the elections, the candidate board member is also tested by De Nederlandse Bank (DNB). The test examines whether the candidate is suitable. That is, has sufficient knowledge and experience of pensions and governance and shows professional behavior. DNB also tests whether the candidate is reliable. Managing a pension fund obviously entails considerable responsibility; the candidate must therefore also have a good understanding of the ins and outs of it and must have integrity before being approved as a board member.
If, in addition to the candidate already put forward, there are no other candidates, we will not hold an election.
