At SPIN, a number of pension matters are arranged for when you become disabled. These are described in the disability pension regulations.
Different arrangements or agreements may apply to individual cases. If you have a question about your disability pension, please contact us.
Kyndryl has chosen to transfer the new pension accrual into a new pension plan with a different administrator from January 1, 2025. Would you like to know what has been arranged for you? Then contact NLEmployeeOffice@kyndryl.com.
What has been arranged?
You no longer pay your own contribution(s), but you continue to accrue pension
You continue to accrue pension on the salary that applied at the time you became unfit for work; and according to the regulations to which you were a member at that time or a successor thereto. The only difference is that we take over your own contribution(s); so you no longer pay your own contribution(s). This applies to the part that you are incapacitated for work.
Please note: additional voluntary contribution DC you continue to pay yourself. Consider whether you want to reduce or stop it.
After 2 years: disability pension (AOP)
After 2 years of continuous illness, you may be eligible for an AOP benefit from SPIN. This is a supplement to your WIA benefit. The AOP stops if:
- you reach your “AOP end date” (may vary from person to person);
- you retire.
- you die;
- you no longer receive WIA.
Please note that the so-called WIA gap is insured through your employer.
If you become totally or partially disabled, the employer notifies us. So you do not have to report this to us separately.
Staying informed
We will keep you informed through personal correspondence. We also send you an annual pension statement. This includes:
- Until when your pension accrual will continue;
- your “AOP end date.
- How high your AOP is, whether you qualify for it and when.
