IBM and its works council (COR) have reached an agreement on pension transition under the Future Pensions Act (Wtp).
Do you work at IBM? Then you will receive information from IBM about the changes. They will return with more detailed information in later communications. If you still have questions at this point, please contact AskHR and include in the subject line of the ticket: 2025 pension agreements.
For (former) Kyndryl employees and retirees, Kyndryl and the Works Council have previously agreed on this. Do you work for Kyndryl and have DC capital with SPIN? Then your DC capital will have been transferred to Kyndryl's new pension administrator in early 2026. Unless you have not given your consent to this. In that case, your capital is left behind with SPIN. All DB pensions are also left with SPIN.
Meanwhile, are you no longer working at IBM or Kyndryl? Or are you already receiving a pension from SPIN? We list the relevant arrangements for you below.
Wtp agreements in outline
The effective date of these WTP agreements for IBM is Jan. 1, 2028. Gradually, you will receive more and more information about exactly what the agreement entails. The basis for the new agreements is that no one will lose out because of the Wtp.
Kyndryl and IBM's transition plans are online. You'll find them on MySPIN on the Approaches page, under the "New Retirement Plan" tile. After receiving the transition plans, SPIN assessed whether we can implement the agreements and whether it is clear and fair ("balanced") for everyone. To this end, we prepared an implementation and transition communication plan. We submitted these plans to De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). They must also give their approval. Once we receive this approval, we will inform you. The implementation plan can also be found on MySPIN.
