Important after retirement

Now that you are retired, other things become important. No longer, when will my salary be deposited, but when will I receive my retirement benefits? No longer, will I get a pay raise, but how can I best make ends meet in retirement? You can read about this and other issues here.

Payment dates

Our website shows you when we pay pensions to you. You will receive an annual statement at the beginning of each year for the past year and a gross/net specification for the new year. You will also receive a gross-net specification in the event of interim changes to your pension benefit.

Surcharge

Each year in January, we notify you of any increase in the DB pension. SPIN has three different surcharge schemes. In your personal data in My SPIN you can see which supplementary scheme you have. And on the homepage of www.spin.nl we explain how the supplements are calculated in the different schemes.

Do you have a pension from DC capital? Then you make arrangements with the insurer where you convert your capital into a pension benefit for any annual increase.

Payroll tax credit

Anyone living in the Netherlands may apply wage tax credits to their income. The moment wage tax credit is applied, less tax is immediately deducted from your benefit each month. You determine the income to which this discount is initially applied. Generally, it is recommended that you apply the rebate to your highest income. But beware: with multiple incomes, applying the payroll tax credit each month may cause you to have to pay taxes later. You can also choose not to apply a monthly wage tax credit, but instead reclaim the wage tax retrospectively through the annual tax return. Read more about the wage tax credit here.

You can apply for or change payroll tax credits through MySPIN. Log in with your DigiD and then go to Directly arrange. Then click on ‘Adjust wage tax credit’.

The DB pension you receive from SPIN will not be converted to a new plan. This means that nothing will change about your pension benefit from SPIN from the Wtp. SPIN will continue to manage and pay out your pension. Want to know more? Then look here.
