The goal of the talks between IBM, Kyndryl and the Works Councils is clear: to determine the areas in which the pension plans will be adjusted. This must be done by January 1, 2025, but the parties are trying to reach an agreement as early as 2024. SPIN is supporting the parties in this effort. The agreed changes must then take effect no later than Jan. 1, 2028.
Associations of pensioners and former employees with pensions can let social partners know what they think about the possibility of converting current pensions to the new pension scheme. The Grey Blue Circle (GBC) is the association representing the interests of pensioners and former employees of IBM Netherlands. The GBC presented its memorandum of views to IBM and the Works Council on July 4. Are you not yet a member of the GBC? Then sign up at administratie@greybluecircle.nl. Or check the website for more information.
The government launched an information campaign about the new pension rules on Aug. 21. Through this campaign, Dutch people are informed about:
- what retirement is;
- Why retirement rules are changing;
- what exactly is changing AND
- which remains the same.
This is done through advertisements on radio, television and the Internet.
Personal information about your own pension will follow later from SPIN, once the social partners’ agreements are known. General information about the new pension rules can be found at www.pensioenduidelijkheid.nl. Or check our website under frequently asked questions for information about your own pension plan.
