IBM and Kyndryl’s transition plans

Recently, IBM, Kyndryl and their two works councils have discussed at length a new pension plan. That should start for IBM employees on Jan. 1, 2028. The new agreements are included in IBM and Kyndryl’s transition plans. Both employers agreed not to convert existing pensions to the new pension plan(s). For former IBM and Kyndryl employees and retirees, nothing will change as a result. All Kyndryl employees have already been covered by a new arrangement since Jan. 1, 2025.

What will SPIN do next?
Now that the plan has been submitted, we will assess whether we can implement the agreements and whether it is clear and fair (“balanced”) for everyone. To do so, we create an implementation and communication plan. We then submit this plan to De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and the Financial Markets Authority (AFM). We aim to do that by the end of 2025. Both regulators must also give their approval.
