Minister Schouten will not succeed in getting the Future of Pensions Act into effect on January 1, 2023. The House of Representatives needs more time. Minister Schouten announced that the new law will probably take effect on July 1, 2023. So the new pension system – which is based on the Future Pensions Act – will take effect later. For now, Jan. 1, 2027, remains the deadline by which pension plans must comply with the new rules.
SPIN continues to prepare
SPIN may have to wait for the new pension law, but we are already preparing for possible changes. Once the new law is known, the two works councils and IBM and Kyndryl can agree on SPIN’s new pension plan.
SPIN helps them do this with advice and technical support. We would like to continue to administer a new pension plan well, in a way that is in the best interest of all concerned.
