New pension system: no later than 2027

Retirement will soon look different for many people in the Netherlands. There will be new rules and those rules are likely to affect your pension plan at SPIN.

Finger on the pulse

There’s not much to say yet about what exactly is going to change. There is still some way to go before we (IBM, Kyndryl and SPIN) are completely ready for the new pension system. For now, it is first up to both employers (IBM and Kyndryl) and their works councils. They must agree on new pension plans for their companies that fit within the new system.

SPIN helps them with advice and technical support. Also because we do need to be able – and want – to continue administering the pension plans. In addition, we must ensure that the pension already accrued retains its value. Together with the other parties, we look for the best solution for your pension. In doing so, we also need your help.

For example, in 2022 you were approached for a risk appetite survey. Through that survey, we expect to get a better understanding of how our plan can be properly aligned with the amount of risk you, as a participant, are willing and able to take.

We will keep you informed of the latest news in the coming months. So that soon you will know where you stand well in time. Do you have any substantive questions? Then take a look at our website. There you will find, among other things, the answers to the most frequently asked questions about the new pension system.
